Company Background

Maxiom Group was founded in 2001 in recognition of the evolving and maturing nature of the life science industry. The new scientific breakthroughs that have occurred over the last two decades are accelerating the number of new drugs, medical devices and diagnostic products that are entering the marketplace.

Maxiom Group's founding team members saw the growing importance of the life sciences sector in New England and began to more deeply understand the profound transformation occurring in the industry and the opportunity to provide assistance to companies making the transition to commercial operations. They realized that emerging life science companies would need to transition from science-driven companies focusing on R&D and clinical trials to product-driven companies with all of the skills, business processes and information systems needed to operate as a commercial company.

Out of these early efforts, Maxiom Group saw that a strong need for life science companies was in the area of "Supply Chain Management." Supply Chain Management is the overall set of business processes, financial transactions, and information that allows companies to manage the flow of materials from the factory out to the patient. As research organizations, most life science companies do not poses the knowledge, experience or skills to put in place an effective supply chain for a commercial product.

In addition to Supply Chain Management, we initiated an information technology (IT) consulting practice to assist life science companies in implementing the IT solutions that they would need to operate as a commercial company.

Through our focus on Life Sciences, the insight that we bring, and our approach to transforming our clients' businesses, we are building the most unique and innovative consulting firm serving this dynamic industry.
