IT Utilization/Value Assessment including ERP Evaluation

As life science companies evolve through their life cycles, the quality of their business systems increasingly become critical success factors. Often, due to company growth and changes in business direction, investments in business systems made earlier have lost their focus, relevance or are not supporting the organization as well as they need to.

Maxiom Group helps life science companies ensure that they are receiving maximum value from the investments in business systems that they have already made. Through our process, we help clients determine how they are currently utilizing their systems, identify opportunities for improving the use of their systems, and develop a time-phased plan for enhancing the value of their current systems.

Maxiom Group brings a sound planning process and deep market understanding of appropriate technology solutions to ensure development of a roadmap for enhancing the utilization of current systems and making modest investments in new systems that can augment the systems already in place. We also integrate validation, compliance and IT governance expertise into our planning process to ensure that compliance with regulations like 21 CFR 11 and Sarbanes-Oxley are integrated within the plan and become a way of life, not an afterthought.

An international pharmaceutical company engaged Maxiom Group to evaluate its options for implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for a recently acquired US business unit.

The US business unit had recently implemented an ERP system that was different than the global system utilized by the parent company. Our evaluation considered the current and projected use of the US ERP system, the underlying business drivers for it, the implementation timeframes and ability of the parent company to deploy the global system at the US unit. The assessment confirmed that there was superior value to continuing with the implementation of the new system in the US and identified mechanisms for ensuring the integration with the global system.
