A leading global biotechnology company engaged Maxiom Group to tailor our proven business process design approach and tools to facilitate the rapid design of their key laboratory processes in support of the implementation of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

While the new system promised to help automate sample tracking, testing, management and analysis across numerous product and environmental test laboratories, our client was concerned that the underlying laboratory processes were not efficient enough and unable to capitalize on the capabilities of the new system. We facilitated cross-functional design workshops and ongoing design and analysis efforts covering seven major categories of laboratory processes to identify deficiencies in the current processes, develop more efficient process designs and identify improvements in cost, cycle time and quality of these processes. As a result, the client implemented more efficient, better performing processes that were optimized to leverage their investment in the LIMS system.
